What is circumcision?
Circumcision consists of cutting a piece of the foreskin of the penis that covers the glans, leaving it permanently open. The dorsal incision technique, in which the specialist makes a small cut in the upper section of the foreskin, might be used to do the procedure. Another method is the covered procedure, which involves drawing a line around the base of the foreskin to act as a guide for making the incision. It is a straightforward technique. Any bleeding is controlled with heat, and the remaining skin edges are sewn together with dissolvable stitches.
